Multan, the city of saints, is situated on the bank of the Chenab River. It is the 7th largest city in Pakistan. Being the major cultural and economic city of Southern Punjab, it has been a center of learning, culture and civilization for centuries. It is also one of the oldest living cities of the world. It is also called the city of “Madina-tul-Auliya” as there are a large number of shrines and tombs of the great Saints. Many pilgrims/believers come here not only from different cities of the country but also from other countries as well, every year, to pay tribute to the great Saints.
Now, this city has grown to become a political as well as the economic hub of the country, as it is now linked with Motorways and has also developed, Mass Transit System including Metro Bus Service. This city is also renowned for its crops like cotton & wheat etc. and world famous especially for mangoes and citrus.
